Beck Manga Finished

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

The story takes you through the forming of a rock band. The manga got off to a good start and seemed very realist. As someone who is self taught on the guitar I could relate to much of the story. An anime was released and covered the first few chapters. This made the manga so much better because now I could understand the type of sound the band had. The manga seemed to just get better where the anime decided to end.(Anime only coverd 1/3 of the manga)

The story kept building and getting better and I was really enjoying the plot, until the last volume. It seems as if the writers did not have a good ending in mind so they did a recap chapter and then a chapter with just the band playing, no one talks. The story just end after a few ppl say some closing thoughts(not the main characters). Then at the end they add in some side story about one of the side characters the influenced the main people. I found the placement odd and unsellting. Overall I enjoyed the manga but the ending was a big disapointment. I would of prefered they release of the last volume to be held back if it meant a better finish.

Score 9.5/10 (Would of been 10/10 but the ending >.<)

1st Of The Month Post

I just noticed its been 5 years since I started to watch and collect anime. Anyway, nothing really worth noting this Spring anime line up. Full Metal Alchemist is a re-telling following the managa but its a nice refresher. Dragon Ball Kai is a big let down, it looks like DBZ episodes edited down.
